week 4 DP #2

Everyday people seek music to either create a movement of energy or to use a method of healing. A good song is something that is original. A good song influences you in a positive way. There is a meaning to the song and it must deliver it’s message clearly. A good song will get stuck in your head because you constantly want to listen to it. The song delivered you good vibrations. A good song does not put you down. If it makes you sad then it is because you are relating yourself to the situation in the song. This is a method of healing through song. Not everyone enjoys listening to the same kinds of music. Each individual has different opinions about what kinds of songs they like. That is why there are so many choices of music.

The song “Where is the Love?” by The Black Eyed Peas is an example of a song that sends a very clear message. The song has depth and passion. This song was written a while back and it did not become out of date or overplayed. A good song will always be a good song and you will feel the same way about it no matter how many times you hear it.

  1. I love this song, definitely one of my old time favorites. The first time I hear this song it really made me emotional. The lyrics in this song truly define the path our world is going thanks to us humans wanting to manipulate things and take over our neighbors territory at no cost, how kids these days are doing things that kids long ago would never do such as manipulating guns, killing their parents and much more because of the examples they have from watching the news, all the violence going around the world and even on TV shows and video games. The title pretty much says it all, we really need to step back and realize we are destroying the things we love instead of making this world a better place to live.

  2. Oh jeez. I remember this song when I was a kid. I was obsessed. This is a very good song. It describes what this world has turned into. It has a lot of emotion to it if you actually read the lyrics and understand it. You did really good picking this song. I wish times were back the way they used to be when family was actually there for you and there was less crime. It would be a better world. Again, thank you for doing this song. I actually forgot about it, so now Im going to add it to my playlist ha ha.

  4. The good old Blackeye Peas, and I agree with you this is a great song. I like your point that good music is when it makes a positive effect on yourself. I like all genere's of music just depends on the mood I am in. For example, while cleaning I like to hear dancing types of music it gets me in the fast pace of cleaning faster. See there is a positive outcome my house gets cleaned and makes me happy. Thank you for sharing this song and an excellent choice.

  5. This is a good song and a good group. I have enjoyed most of Black Eyed Peas music. Their music has a positive message in a time when so many artists focus on the negative aspects of life. Artists are role models whether they want to be or not. The message that artists convey will be an insight to whom they are. Good music is definitely relative, but the message is not. Often I hear more and more that is accepted in today's society that was not O.K. when I was a kid. I remember hearing the same thing from older people when I was a kid. When will the moral depravity stop? It is up to today's leaders to convince socirty that there needs to be a change.
